A Statistical Study of Preventive Dental Practices at Dental College Hospital

Abstract
|

|
The authors have collected the data in order to examine the amounts of preventive dental practices and management states statistically. And analysed the personal affairs, preventive practice affairs and clinical practice for dental students through examining the charting record of preventive dental care from May, 1986 to March 1987 at Dental Hospital of Dankuk University.
The obtained results were as followings;
1. The numbers of out-patients at dept. of preventive dentistry were 2,059 per a year and total numbers of out-patients were 2,594.
2. Main practical items of dept. of preventive dentistry were individual oral hygine education as 1166 cases, Tooth Brushing Instruction as 1558 cases, Fluoride Topical Application as 1121 cases & Fis ure Sealing as 727 cases, Oral physicotherapy as 528 cases & Oral M. cro-1121 cases, Pit & Fi ssure Sealing as 727 cases, Oral physicotherapy as 528 cases & Oral M. croflora test as 44 cases.
3. Further clinical studies were needed at Caries Activity Test, Oral Microflora Test, and Diet control, and more practical items must be developed for clinical preventive dentistry.
4. Corporative system with -other departments must be established to do the clinical practice of preventive dental care efficiently.
5. It was recommended that the dept. of clinical preventive dentistry at dental college hospital should be established and managed to harmonize the dental care system & dental student clinical education.
